Donna Wilson, frame it with love

Yesterday I bought these beautifully printed oversized thick cards ( the girl and the little owl) in the Keet in Huis store. Created by Donna Wilson, one of my favourite designers of the moment! She's a very talented artist, I like her style, humor and colour combinations very much. Can't wait to hang them framed in my work space! This is a cheap way to collect beautiful art.... there are so many nice postcards, books and posters out there, frame it with love and your walls will look stunning.

Creative café: christmas edition

Yesterday evening my friend and I organized " the Creative café: christmas edition" in our little atelier space in Amsterdam. A cosy evening with 2 christmas projects and of course some winter drinks & bites. We made some beautiful paper pompoms and holiday post cards with tape and stamps. It was so much fun to do! Tomorrow I will give you a little tutorial for the pompoms ( very easy to do).

Localilo in Melbourne

Melbourne really stole my heart this year, I enjoyed it so much!! We were sleeping in a little campervan in the middle of the city and even though we visited MB only for a few days, it really felt like home. I asked a very nice girl, who was working in a stunning shop named Wilkins & Kent, if she could give us some ' secret'  local tips. And she did, with all her passion and enthusiasm. So for everybody who planned a trip to Melbourne here you go... a printable handy list.

* eat: Cavallero is a small neighbourhood bar/restaurant in the interesting location of the bottom end of Smith Street, Collingwood. Good & honest food, seasonal dishes from local and national products and they have nice beers too!

* shop: Wilkins & Kent, a small furniture company based in Fitzroy. They are specialized in custom madde timber furniture. And they stock a range of homewares that reflect their interest in quality and craftmanship like gorgeous textiles, accessories, glassware, ceramic tableware books and many other pieces.

* market: Camberwell Sunday Market is a popular trash and treasure market held on every Sunday. Hundreds of stalls, array of new, second hand and vintage, friendly and cheap. Sjoesjoe found so many nice goodies. You should really go if you want to score something lovely.

And your house will smell like chocolate for a little while which is maybe the best. I'd love to hear from you when you tried the recipe! :)

the Penguin Threads Series

Penguin is a fantastic brand that surprises and inspires me all the time because they constantly re-new themselves! The Penguin Threads series debuts with cover art by Jillian Tamaki for three Penguin classics. Sketched out in a traditional illustrative manner, then hand stitched using needle and thread, the final covers are sculpt embossed for a tactile, textured and beautiful book design. Three extraordinary covers for the first in the Penguin Threads series: The Secret GardenEmma, Black Beauty.

My Japanese sparkling treasure!

Oh my, yesterday I bumped in to a Japanese kawaii-ness ( kawaii = sweet in japanese). I am a huge fan of Japan, and I have been there a few times, lucky me!! So finding Hello Sandwich, a creative blog written by an Australian artist who lives in Tokyo ( I am so jealous), was a sparkling treasure! She loves Japan, masking tape, bento boxes, pantone 107.3, metallic hologram foil, paper, gifts, polka dots, fluor pencils... and this all together is the perfect recipe for a very inspirational blog
